Judo (meaning "gentle way") is a modern martial art and combat sport created in Japan in 1882 by Kano Jigoro. It has its roots in ju-jitsu which is an ancient Japanese method of self-defense and unarmed combat.
The Howick and St Heliers Judo Club has a variety of classes, at two locations, in the Eastern Suburbs of Auckland, New Zealand.
